Tinderbox festival program
Once again this year, Tinderbox welcomes its guests and volunteers with a robust music program featuring both small and prominent Danish and international artists. This musical extravaganza unfolds not only on the main stages but also at Magicbox, which has become Tinderbox’s legendary electronic scene.

To ensure our volunteers have a glimpse of what they can experience during their free time, we’ve put together a brief guide to Tinderbox’s music program. As a volunteer, you can now relax even more and simply step away from Salsa Peaks to immerse yourself in the music.
There’s so much music that it can be difficult to choose, but let’s start with the biggest international names. Lenny Kravitz, David Guetta, Avril Lavigne, Camila Cabello, and Bryan Adams are the most obvious must-see artists.

Lenny Kravitz has been in the game since the mid-1980s and is one of the festival’s most seasoned performers. With four Grammy Awards and 40 million albums sold worldwide, Lenny Kravitz guarantees an amazing experience. He is a multi-instrumentalist and an actor, and his music spans a wide universe of rock, funk, reggae, R&B, and soul.

David Guetta, on the other hand, is easier to place. The French DJ has been active since 1984, but it’s in the 2000s and later in the 2010s that he solidifies his name and starts churning out hit after hit. He is widely regarded as the world’s best DJ, with an astounding 14 billion streams to his name. An absolutely mind-boggling number! If you have some free time, grab a fellow volunteer and head over to Guetta’s concert; it’s bound to be one of the festival’s biggest highlights.

Most people have sung along to Avril Lavigne’s lyrics: “He was a skater boy. She said - See you later, boy" from her debut album, where Avril Lavigne burst onto the charts. Since then, the Canadian artist has produced plenty of music, and she has also dabbled in acting.

Camila Cabello surprisingly plays her first concert in Denmark under her own name. She previously performed with her breakthrough band Fifth Harmony during their X-Factor days. Her concert at the Royal Arena in 2020 was unfortunately canceled, but now she’s finally stopping by, and as volunteers, we can look forward to hits like “Havana”.

Bryan Adams, on the other hand, needs little introduction. With “Summer of '69”, he penned the lyrics to our favorite summer anthem, whether it was 1969, 2003, or 2022. His words resonate across all his many hits, and his concert will likely be the ultimate sing-along party at Tinderbox 2024.

The biggest Danish names at Tinderbox include Benjamin Hav and his family, Andreas Odbjerg, who keeps churning out hits, Rasmus Seebach, who has been topping charts for many years, and Ukendt Kunstner (Unknown Artist) with Hans Philip, who remains a hitmaker whether solo or alongside Jens Ole McCoy in the reformed Ukendt Kunstner.

However, the biggest hit ever on the Danish charts belongs to Gobs with his song “Tak For Sidst”. For 13 consecutive weeks during the summer of 2023, this track held the number one position in Denmark. Additionally, his album “Mellem Himmel og Jord” from January is sure to accumulate plenty of streams in the coming years.

Guldimund, a Danish indie rock singer-songwriter, hasn’t quite hit the charts in the same way yet. However, there’s plenty of talent, and with his fantastic orchestra, most people who occasionally tune in to the radio will be able to dance along to Guldimund’s superb universe.

If you’re into electronic music, it’s hard to ignore the Magicbox stage, which year after year delivers plenty of music to get your bass-arm moving. And it’s doing so again this year. While it’s often easy to just show up when you’re in the mood for music, it might be cool to take a closer look at some of the names in the music program.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and their version of Dido’s massive hit “Thank You” are almost a must-listen. It has been played quite a bit, but it is far from finished, and it will resonate in your upper arm for many years to come.

Names like Meduza, Claptone, and especially Nicky Romero are obvious choices to check out. Among Danish artists, consider Hedegaard, Bless You, and, of course, TooManyLeftHands, who will undoubtedly represent Danish electronic music well.

In addition to the music program, there’s daily comedy at the Groovebox stage, where a multitude of comedians show up each day to bring laughter to everyone.
The Tinderbox setup wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteers who keep everything running smoothly, whether they’re fence guards, working in food stalls, or doing something entirely different.

Being a volunteer at Salsa Peaks is naturally fun in itself, but the Tinderbox’s extensive musical program makes it even more enjoyable to be a volunteer, even during your free time.

We look forward to seeing you in Tusindårsskoven (The Millennium Forest)
